Cold Calls – I’m a Believer

June 14, 2010

Hi Everyone – I’m a big believer in cold calls and emails to generate new business. Maybe they’re not exactly cold since I always think about which messages will likely resonate with a particular audience, but I’m not afraid to ask for the director of marketing’s email address to at least see if they’re interested in what I have to offer! So, my advice, go for it!

Best,

Jack

School’s almost over

June 11, 2010

Can’t believe school’s almost over for Milo. That means that I do my word early in the morning before he wakes up and in the afternoon when he’s watching a movie!

Just wanted to share some great results I helped generate for Diamond Storage Concepts/HyLoft:

Here you go, Jack. This just posted this morning:

New musical adventures

May 14, 2010

I’m trying to hook up with Barber Dan to pursue some new musical adventures.  He does original tunes in a Bossa Nova/jazz vein.  Not crazy about the word “vein.”  Simple sax solos add a nice smooth layer between or after vocal verses.

HW Show 2010

May 7, 2010

Hi Everyone – HW Show this year was great for me.  Arranged editorial meetings for Diamond Storage-HyLoft and Atomic Direct.  Had my own new business meeting, passed out cards and generally made the best of it.  Thanks to everyone!

Best,

Jack

Cirque De Soleil

Went to Cirque with my family.  Great show.  Very funky music.  A family favorite.

National Hardware Show

April 6, 2010

The National Hardware Show is coming up in May — something I’m usually involved in.  Will be interesting to see who is exhibiting and the kind of media that will attend.

Being Home with Milo

February 13, 2010

There was one day last week when I was home all day with my seven year old son Milo who was sick.  Longest day of my life!

Bob Beaulaurier, Research 13

January 26, 2010

Just had a terrific meeting with Bob Beaulaurer of Research 13.  Bob is one of the brightest, most intelligent people on the market research scene today.  I’ve known him for many years and he’s always coming up with new ideas.  Bob believes the days of the fancy focus group rooms are excessive and expensive and that they actually detract from from the experience for the attendee. Check him out at www.Research13.com.

Going to help a friend with some healthcare reform PR. Happy to do something new and different.
